GCT has been entertaining area residents since its beginning in 1968.  The Children on Stage program is a part of GCT, and they offer year-round youth acting classes.

Founded in 1978, GSO productions run from October - May and feature guest artists throughout the season.

Historic Downtown

The downtown square is bordered by Main, Sixth, Fifth, and State Streets.  The square, which surrounds a large fountain area, has a variety of specialty shops along with restaurants, a coffee house, and other businesses.

Landmark Museum - www.garlandhistorical.org

The museum is housed in the former Santa Fe Railroad Depot and contains a large collection of items from days gone by.  The museum is located in Heritage Park, along with the Pace House and Lyles House, typical homes of the 1800's, as well as a Pullman Railroad car.  The museum is open the first and third Saturdays of each month from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
