GISD Contact Information

The Garland Independent School District serves the cities of Garland, Rowlett, and Sachse. Student enrollment is more than 57,000, making it one of the largest districts in Dallas County. GISD is run on a "Choice of School" plan, which allows students to attend any appropriate school, providing that room is available. The district's oldest school, Garland High School, is more than 100 years old.

The GISD Board of Trustees meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Harris Hill Administration Building. The meetings are open to the public.
